  3. Flight Of Icarus looks an amazing book then! I’d love to scan some of the Syd Mead stuff I have; there’s one of his paintings that was obviously the basis for the four-legged walkers (At-At’s) from Star Wars but it’s printed across the spine and a complete shit to scan!

  4. Some of Syd Mead books are really expensive like £60 and upwards… I guess if your spending that kinda cash you need to spend x10 that on a Coffee Table to rest them on..

Yeah Flight of Icarus is Great! and only £2 from a Car boot Sale – will get scanning more

  6. “1000 Days Goes to Mars” is more of an ‘as inspired by’ than a back story. SF/F artwork provides some of the most fruitful motivation for my daily writing.

    Thanks for coming by.

  8. I have a copy of this book, in excellent condition. It was copyrighted in 1977 and is 159 pages of sheer brilliance. It was published by Paper Tiger and measures 12″ X 12″. This book is in full color w/ amazing artwork. Does anyone know what it might be worth ? I might consider letting it go. Maybe. I am into Heavy Metal art and find this stuff simply awesome !!!

  9. Hey Steve, You have a copy of “Flight of the Icarus” lucky you, the copy I picked up was £2 from a Car Boot sale in Halifax and someone had cut out all the Roger Dean Pictures! I reckon you could get anywhere up to £25 on ebay, though equally perhaps only £10-£15, it’s a rare rather than very rare book… So I depends on whose bidding and how much they want it I guess, personally I’d keep hold of it…
