I&#039;m not sure if you&#039;ve seen the rest of the comic, the aircraft Otomo has drawn features forward swept wings and looks very much like this jet experimental russian jet &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Su-47&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Su-47&lt;/a&gt; though perhaps a bit more butch... anyway a cool design, if not slightly dated against tommorows stealth/wedge-esque designs</description>

		<description>I can&#039;t shake the feeling that the jet must be of soviet origin.  There&#039;s a lot of Su-27 in that drawing.  But given that amount of &quot;cross pollination&quot; that went on in both sides of the cold war that may not be all that surprising.

I have always got the impression that there was a lot people on both sides saying: &quot;If the USA/USSR is researching X, then there must be something too it.&quot;  Little knowing that the only reason that either of them are researching it is because the other one is.
