Man Myth & Magic - Siegfried Killing The Dragon

I’ve been running a little bit low on original Blog resource material until yesterday when a trip to my local antiques centre yielded a selection of this obscure magazine publication ‘Man Myth & Magic’ with it’s tagline’s: ‘An Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Supernatural’ & ‘The most Unusual Magazine ever Published’

Man Myth & Magic was a UK based publication that ran for 112 weekly issue’s starting in 1970 – as mentioned the magazine feature’s many Illustration’s ranging from quirky woodcut’s of Ye-olde spooky folklore; Werewolf’s, Witches’s, Demon’s through to double page spread reprint’s and analysis of the work of master Artist’s/Illustrator’s such as Albrecht Dürer, Matthias GrunewaldAubrey Beardsley and many more…

The cover art used here is Teutonic Mythology  ’Siegfried Killing The Dragon’ taken from a 19th century German edition of nibelungenlied.

Indeed, and excellent series. The entire run was collected in a 24 volume hardbound edition. The series remains influential as a writer’s resource.

    Hey Mark,
Thanks for the Comment – yeah I’ve seen the Hardbound Edition too, very chunky quite a read! It’s an amazing wealth of material, impeccably researched….

It was in the collected/hardbound version of this that I read about (and saw photos demonstrating) how crop circles were made by Wiccan sorts, iirc, ca. 1973 or so, thus finding the “mystery” of them in later years particularly amusing.

  4. Kie says:

You mean Crop Circles aren’t created by Flying Saucers ?? Noooooooo

I have the entire 24 volume set, and it’s in excellent condition. Was a personal collection obtained from an estate sale and most books have not even been opened. Am looking to sell for a good collector price. If interested contact lawless57@hotmail.com.

I am also looking to sell the set. Please contact head_sit@hotmail.com, and reference the book set in the subject line.

have several issues of MM&M for sale — #s 1-16, 20-42, 44-48. All in mint condition except #47, which is in good condition. Am looking to sell for reasonable price; these were my husband’s, and he passed away, so they’ve been in sole possession since publication.

Reading the interest that is happening for man, myth and magic worries me a lot. They were released when I was 7, my mother collected them,( although I did not know this at the time) and kept them on the top shelf of a cupboard in my bedroom.
Now I was very “open” to spirit and from the time they came into the house, things started to happen to me, NO i was not dreaming and YES I DID go through hell and back which got worse with every issue she brought into the house.
So a very big warning to those with children, think long and hard before taking them into your home, they hold energies that no one should be subjected to, especially children.
