A gargantuan beast rises from the foaming ocean swell; sleeve art for 1978 Vangelis album “The Dragon” – Artwork by Welshman Terry Oakes – also a major contributor to the Fighting Fantasy series, producing both cover and interior art.

  1. I love technology and technological advancement… the move from vinyl to CD, CD to digital download has been fantastic. But the one thing that goes missing in the latest delivery method in the great album art of yesterday.
    From Giger’s ELP Brainsalad Surgery to all of the Journey artwork, how many times has my mind created a “story” to go with these fantastic images.
    Seeing this picture reminds me of how much I miss them.

  2. I couldn’t agree more Kevin, I mean CD Packaging Artwork can be elaborate and great but you can’t beat folding 12″ Vinyl can you?
