  2. One thing is bugging me about this image – and I’ve not seen the film – but if the world has blown up, and obviously short on spare parts, why the heck build such an elaborate 12 wheeled vehicle?

  3. I saw the movie in the theater when it was released. To the best of my memory, the vehicle was created by the US military prior to the apocalypse. It was at an outpost in the desert where soldiers were stationed. George Pappard led them to explore what was left of civilization after large explosions had knocked the earth loose from its axis. The super-modified RV protected the travelers from such dangers as gigantic scorpions, cockroach swarms, and I can’t remember what else.
