“Lucifer” Parisian Poster 1902

A 105 year old Screen Print, produced to advertise an event at a Parisian nightclub, or what ever the correct anachronism is. I have no info on the artist, the piece itself is in keeping with the style of the time, Art Nouveau and is similar to some of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Addendum Jan 2010:  ‘Lucifer Girl’ by Austrian artist Victor Schufinsky from 1904… thanks Samuel !

I am glad I could be of assistance. I ought to have said it before; I am grateful for the effort you put in to make this blog. I am especially grateful for the recent Harry Clarke post, I had previously seen his art on other sites but was frustrated by their woefully low resolution (which, as you can imagine, is particularly inimical to his art style).

    Cheers Samuel :)

Yeah those Harry Clarke Images are fantastic, I still need to add some more notes to those images, though of course much more credit due to Will @ Journey Round My Skull…. Great set of hi-res scans….
